Sustainable technologies
Diesel, biodiesel and HVO
Irizar brand coaches are only offered with engines that meet Euro6E emissions standards. Fuel consumption, and consequently, CO2 emissions of Irizar integral vehicles are at their best levels and increasingly close to 20 l/100 km or 5 km/l for 12.2m and 19.5 Tonne maximum weight units. Supplier tests of the power train in these vehicles show very competitive results in performance, efficiency and sustainability.
Hybrids
Hybrid parallel technology, combining a propulsion engine with an electric motor that provides power or generates electricity. Depending on requirements, the engines can act individually or together to achieve optimum efficiency and performance. Today we have a complete range of hybrids with 6.7l Euro6E combustion engines, approved to run on fossil diesel or HVO (diesel of plant origin).
These coaches offer a reduction in consumption of around 25% compared to a conventional diesel coach, thus providing our customers with significant fuel savings and a proportional reduction in CO2 emissions (around 25%).
We also offer hybrids on chassis, the fruit of our partnership working with the different brands available on the market.

These coaches offer a 20% decrease in consumption compared to a conventional diesel coach, which enables our customers to save 6,400 litres/year of diesel.. This also influences reductions in CO2 emissions by up to 20%, which reduces about 236,830 Kg of CO2 over its service life (estimated at 100,000 km / year in 15 years).
We are currently focusing efforts on hybrid technologies with electric autonomy.
Natural gas (CNG & LNG)
The compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) were recently brought into the range of sustainable technologies.
These coaches reduce CO2 emissions by about 25%, NOx emissions by up to 60% and emissions of particulate matter by over 98%. In addition to higher thermal performance than diesel, vibrations and noise emissions are also minimized by between 4-5 dB.
In relation to operating cost, it is estimated that the reduction may be as high as 35%, depending on the differential between the cost of gas and diesel.
The maintenance cost remains similar to that of a conventional diesel vehicle. The vehicles have a range of up to 500 km in the CNG version and double that with the LNG technology.
Electric buses and trucks
Integral electromobility solutions for cities. 100% zero emissions, electric vehicles, charging systems, electric traction, energy management and storage.
Green hydrogen
The Irizar Group's technological road map for the coming years contemplates the development of short, medium and long distance electric coaches and buses with hydrogen fuel cells, which will gradually be extended to the rest of the Irizar Group's range of vehicles (buses and trucks for urban services).
