Irizar presents the new generation of its zero-emission Irizar ie truck at the Solutrans trade fair - a much lighter, more versatile and sustainable vehicle

This new version of the Irizar ie truck, exclusively designed to meet the needs of cities and urban environments, will be presented at the Solutrans international trade fair in Lyon.

At stand 14 in hall 5, Irizar will be showcasing the tri-axle chassis version of this new generation of Irizar ie trucks, featuring a completely renewed, lightened design, technically updated to comply with the latest legislative requirements (ADAS and GSR2) and optimised for greater performance in urban environments of all kinds. At the same time, another two-axle unit fitted with a refrigerated delivery container and manufactured by Chereau, a leading manufacturer of this type of truck bodies in the European market, will also be on display at the stand, along with a third unit that will be available for those interested in test driving it outside the premises. The latter is a rear-loading, 100% electric vehicle fitted with a waste collection body.

Reduction in fuel consumption, emissions and weight

The knowledge and experience gained from the first generation of the truck has enabled the effective redesign and optimisation of the new version of the truck, which is up to 2000 kg lighter in the 6x2 version and around 1400 kg lighter in the 4x2 version, leading to an important reduction in fuel consumption and emissions, as well as a much lower TCO for the operator or end customer. The new design of the cabin, lower and shorter, also improves versatility, further optimising all possible uses.

The Irizar ie truck continues to be the vehicle with the lowest access height currently available on the market and has a single 370 mm access step, ensuring safe transit for driver and passengers. As with the entire Irizar range, safety and full compliance with ISO 16121 and VDV 234 remain essential when finding the best position for the driver, where ergonomics and visibility are paramount for safe driving.

Designed for different industrial uses with Irizar technology

The new lower, shorter cabin further enhances the concept and look of flexibility and versatility, fully optimising integration with any type of truck body. The Irizar Group is currently able to offer vehicles for all types of truck bodies, from those for distribution of food and merchandise, both dry and refrigerated, for refuelling, for mounting road cleaning and sanitation tanks, to those for transporting people with reduced mobility, platforms with open trailer bodies (with or without tipper and crane), among many others.

This vehicle is fitted with the Group's third generation higher energy density batteries for more on-board power using less volume and weight. As a result, this new generation battery stores up to 512 kWh and provides up to 400 km of autonomy, depending on use.
